T'ai Chi
As I'd never been particularly physical in my pursuits, I spent a lot of my time thinking, reading and generally using my intellect rather than my body. As far as spirituality was concerned, I was meditating regularly, visualising, and doing the occasional ritual, too. I felt I was missing out on something - I was working all my upper chakras, but not my lower ones. I took up walking and cycling, and felt more balanced - but I felt I needed something that integrated mind, body and spirit. I was intrigued by T'ai Chi, and a colleague of mine had been practising it for several years, so I joined the University of Bristol T'ai Chi Society and started practising. I've mentioned T'ai Chi in this section on Malkuth - but it's tied in very closely with Taoism, which I've included in the section at the top of the tree.
T'ai Chi is moving meditation, a martial art, and a superb way to balance your energy. It's invigorating and relaxing at the same time, and feels great - especially when done outdoors!
